"I just moved to Colorado and go figure I would immediately have car troubles. I was worried about going to a new car shop even if they had experience working on Cadillacs. In the past when I would go to the Cadillac dealer, even for an oil change, there always seemed to be $2,000 worth of work, parts, and/or labor that needed to be done to my car. "On Dec 09, I called the Auto Show on KEZW-1430 AM for suggestions to cure a very annoying and maybe serious brake problem I've been having with my 2008 Toyota Rav4. The problem is a loud grating/crunching noise that gets worse over time and more pronounced as more stops are made in a single trip.

"You were able to very quickly and precisely suggest two possible solutions that would involve effort but no cost to me. You also suggested that, if those measures didn't work, to upgrade to a better grade of discs (possibly ceramic).

"Soon after you gave your suggestions, I did both (a thorough washing of the disc brake area and "deglazing" as you described). I now do not have the noise and am reasonably sure the rotors, discs, etc are fine as I did have a Toyota dealer inspect and check the system (wheels off inspection and test drive) just a few days before I called your show. What the dealer didn't do was offer any "relief" to the problem, in fact they stated it was just something I needed to put up with.
